Mother and Son.

This is a poem which was sent to me sometime ago. Unfortunately, I do not know the original writer.

My son came home from school one day,
With a smirk upon his face.
He decided he was smart enough
To put me in my place.

"Guess what I learned in Civics Two,
that's taught by Mr. Wright?
It's all about the laws today,
The 'Children's Bill of Rights.'"

It says I need not clean my room,
Don't have to cut my hair
No one can tell me what to think,
Or speak, or what to wear.

I have freedom from religion,
And regardless what you say,
I don't have to bow my head,
And I sure don't have to pray.

I can wear earrings if I want,
And pierce my tongue & nose.
I can read & watch just what I like,
Get tattoos from head to toe.

And if you ever spank me,
I'll charge you with a crime.
I'll back up all my charges,
With the marks on my behind.

Don't you ever touch me,
My body's only for my use,
Not for your hugs and kisses,
That's just more child abuse.

Don't preach about your morals,
Like your Mama did to you.
That's nothing more than mind control,
And it's illegal too !

Mom, I have these children's rights,
So you can't influence me,
Or I'll call Children's Services Division,
Better known as C.S.D.'

What about Suave and Chic?

My sixth sense tells me that there’s some speculation on the title of this blog, and now I am going to clear things up!

Get your pen and paper ready ;)
Lesson 1: Suave
'Suave’ is pronounced swäv
'Suave' is not exactly a regularly used word, unlike refined, polished, pleasant, civil, courteous, gracious, tactful, sophisticated (I could go on and on), by the way, all these words are synonyms of Suave.
According to the oxford dictionary, ‘Suave’ dates back to the late Middle English, and comes from old French, or from Latin suavis, which means ‘agreeable’. The current sense is said to date back to the mid 19th century. Another said origin of Suave: is said to date back to 1495-1505. However, the Merriam-webster dictionary states it first known use to be in 1831.

Well, wherever the origin came from, does not change the meaning. ‘Suave’ is especially used for men… but it is NOT gender specific, so no need for this:

A peak into innovation, technology, and the brain.

So, what about innovation and technology?

There has been a lot of talk about innovation over time. Universities offer courses on innovation; motivators speak on being innovative, and so do mentors and professionals. After all talks about innovation, I decided on a short write up, because I feel the need to innovate something (could be anything)

It is not news that one of the driving forces behind innovation is necessity. Just like the good old saying: ‘necessity is the mother of invention’. Well, I am not going to bore you with so much on innovation as a subject, but just a sneak peek into my thoughts about this. I am amazed as to the mechanism behind planes, ships, submarines (yeah, I know it’s all about physics bla bla bla, and it’s probably straight forward for the science geeks), however, I am not ashamed to show my dearth of knowledge in physics. After all, everyone is gifted in their own field (of which I would not mention mine).

Food Fantasies

I wouldn’t be surprised if I got someone wondering what exactly I mean by 'food fantasies'. Well, it was a pretty long week, and the weekend is finally here. Yippie! But too bad, it’s never a long weekend :(

Eating the same thing regularly tends to get boring after a while (that’s my experience anyway), but it is quite strange that some never get tired. Yes, Quite strange to me! I have a Dutch friend who eats porridge for breakfast every morning, bread for lunch (it’s not uncommon in the Netherlands) and potatoes for dinner. These are pretty much his regular meals, and they have been for a while. Trust me, he gets excited at the mention of something different, but whenever I suggest a change in his meal menu, he is quick to say he loves it just as it is… well, what do I know?

Expressions and Thoughts

Okay, so I decided to create my own blog, one of the reasons is that sometimes, I feel I have a lot to say, and thanks to time and situations, i end up not saying all I want to say, just when I want to say it, and how I want to say it. Do I hear someone say ‘thank goodness, one less talkative out of the way’? :(

Well, not that I am the type that loves talking (to the extent that it almost becomes blabbing), but most times, I feel the need to speak my mind exactly as it is, without having to feel restricted and concerned that I may be talking too much or sharing more than I ought to. Well, its true that one of the tests of knowledge is the ability to know the right thing to say at the right time, of which I completely agree with. (so, following those moments, I can rush here and pen down my thoughts) *smiles*
